Our Pastor
Rev. Kenneth V. Blanchard, Sr
has been serving at Historic Berean Baptist Church since 2006. He is only the second pastor of the young church. He was called into the Gospel ministry at a young age but became a licentiate minister at Mount Sinai Baptist Church under Pastor Edwon Brown in 2001. He was ordained by Pastor Maxwell M. Washington in 2007 and called to pastor in 2008.
He is the founder of In The Wilderness Ministries (itwm.org) and the Forgiven Christian riders an international motorcycle ministry that helps churches utilize the motorcyclist in their congregations to evangelize. He is still furthering his education with plans of ultimately achieving a doctorate in Theology.
He works full time as a senior intelligence analyst for a national defense contractor. He is a published author, avid saltwater fisherman, motorcyclist, and firearms expert known as a pastor to outdoorsmen and hunters. He is a former US Marine, a former police officer lieutenant and a self defense trainer.
He is married, and is the father of two adult children.
His favorite Scripture is from Philippians 3:12-14
Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which also I was laid hold of by Christ Jesus.
Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead,
I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
